New Shadow Map

I used Squares to line up with all the shadows and then used them as a selection mask and feathered them in the “select and mask”

Old Shadow Map

Had several cracks and rough spots that stuck out in the final render. Used only color range

The render farm has decided to reject my renders and has not spat out any warnings that pertain to my scene. I dealt with making the renderfarm use 2024 and I do not use USD so I cant imagine why it is whining at me. I think this might be a 2024 error more than anything so I might try running my file on 2022 on the monty computers.

The re-render already looks great even in maya unrendered. Projected clean plate for better reflections. I also need to reflect the shadow maybe in the can but that is for the final final output.

Dealt with an error with the shading groups that locked me out of swapping materials for multiple objects.

The Nuke Tree is pretty much optimized with some plus merge nodes to add in place of colorcorrect nodes when needed. The initial renders are blown out and noisy for a preview so I will re-render them.

I like how the shadow shading looks but i fear that it moves the ground.

I began modelling my soup can for the first project for a variety in metallic and plastic materials with complex reflections.

I have a few ideas for the animation such as falling down stairs or using crushing physics in Houdini.

No photos just yet but they should be on my list as soon as I get the chance.
